As we continue through this unexpected year of crisis and resiliency, it’s clear we are ready for a time of community and inspiration before we begin a new academic year. Our Fall 2020 Faculty Development Day offers us these opportunities to reconnect with each other and to share our successes and challenges in teaching, research, and mentoring through the pandemic.
This fall, Faculty Development Day has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2020. The event will be fully online, with sessions delivered through Zoom.
Although we will likely be operating at a distance, we will be designing informal opportunities for discussion and reunions in addition to breakout sessions and the college-wide session. This will be a first for John Jay, and we trust the Fall 2020 FDD will set a useful precedent for the future.
This fall, the overall theme for our day will be “Resilient and Resolute: John Jay Across the Distance,” with the anticipated session tracks listed below.
- Re-Inventing through Remote Success
- Bridging the Distance Mentoring
- Sheltering with Self-Care
- Realizing Virtual Social Justice Pedagogies
- Developing In-Person and Remote Curricula
